Councillor Munday, as relevant Cabinet Lead, introduced a report on the Cabinet appointments to outside bodies, which included details of the options available to Cabinet.
The following amendment proposed by Councillor Munday and seconded by Councillor Paul Gray was agreed by Cabinet for the reasons stated below:
Amendment
The following additional recommendation be approved:
“authority be delegated to the Monitoring Officer to approve changes to the appointments schedule as set out in Appendix A of the report after consultation with the Leader of the Council.”
Reasons
The Leader of the Council advised that details of the outside bodies and appointments to these bodies were still the subject of discussion between the political groups. The recommended delegation of authority was therefore necessary to avoid delay in making any changes to the appointment’s schedule arising from these discussions.
There being no other amendments, Cabinet voted and agreed the substantive motion for the reasons set out in the submitted report and above. It was therefore,
RESOLVED that:
A. the appointments to outside bodies as set out in Appendix A of the report be approved; and
B. authority be delegated to the Monitoring Officer to approve changes to the appointments schedule as set out in Appendix A of the report after consultation with the Leader of the Council.

“Authority be delegated to the Monitoring Officer to approve changes to the appointments schedule as set out in Appendix C of the report after consultation with the Leader of the Council.”

Councillor Harris, Cabinet Lead for Regeneration and Communities, introduced a report recommending the adoption of a revised safeguarding policy. The report included details of the options available to Cabinet and the reasons for revising the policy.
