ELECTION OF MAYOR
To elect a Mayor to hold office until the annual meeting of the Council in 2026.

RESOLVED –
That Councillor Janice Asman be elected Mayor of the Borough for the ensuing municipal year and until acceptance of office by their successor.
Councillor Asman then subscribed their declaration of acceptance of office. The new Mayoress, Sarah Turl, was invested with their badge of office and the Mayor then addressed the Council.

VOTE OF THANKS
To record a vote of thanks to the retiring Mayor.

RESOLVED –
That the best thanks of this Council be extended to David and Jean Pragnell for the admirable way in which they have carried out their duties of Mayor and Mayoress during the past year.
David Pragnell suitably replied to the vote of thanks. The Mayor and the Mayoress then presented badges to David and Jean Pragnell to mark their year of service to the Borough as Mayor and Mayoress.

APPOINTMENT OF MAYOR'S CHAPLAIN

The Mayor signified in writing the appointment of Reverend Vicky Maunder as their Chaplain.

CONFERMENT OF HONORARY ALDERMAN

The Chief Executive read the resolution of the Council that all former Councillors that had served as a Councillor for 12 years or longer and were not actively seeking re-election be formally invited to accept the award of Honorary Alderman.
The Mayor then conferred the title of Honorary Alderman on Anne Winstanley.

CONFERMENT OF CITIZEN OF HONOUR AWARDS

The Chief Executive read the resolution of the Council on 27 February 2025 that:
The title of Citizen of Honour be conferred upon Wendy Cummins for organising the Boyatt Wood Christmas celebrations, Julie Olden for long service as a School Crossing Patrol Officer and Rose Timms for voluntary service supporting veterans and the Armed Forces.
The title of Citizen of Honour was then presented to Wendy Cummins, Julie Olden and Rose Timms.
