Hampshire County Council Future Services Consultation - Spring 2025

Issue
Hampshire County Council (HCC) is publicly consulting on a range of proposed service changes that could help to contribute towards addressing a remaining predicted shortfall of £97.6 million in the County Council’s budget for 2025/26. (Paper 5)
Consideration
HCC is now publicly consulting on options which would contribute around £9.9 million in total towards closing the HCC budget gap, while ensuring the continuation of statutory duties. The consultation runs from 12 March to 7 May 2025.
RESOLVED –
That Cabinet agreed the response to Hampshire County Council’s ‘Future Services Consultation – Spring 2025’ at Appendix two.

Exempt Business
To consider passing a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 in respect of the following item of business on the grounds that it is/they are likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.
The Schedule 12A categories have been amended and are now subject to the public interest test, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This came into effect on 1st March 2006.
It is considered that the following items are exempt from disclosure and that the public interest in not disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
