The Service Director Governance and Support (Monitoring Officer) presented the report (Agenda Item 6).
The Chair, Councillors House and Parker-Jones informed the Administration Committee that following the Hampshire County Council (HCC) Conduct Advisory Panel meeting on 30 January 2025, the HCC corporate response to the consultation was still in draft form and so was not available to comment on for the meeting.
RESOLVED –
That the Administration Committee:
(1) Considered and commented on the current Government consultation entitled “Strengthening Standards and Conduct framework for Local Authorities Consultation; and
(2) Delegated to the Chair and Monitoring Officer, and with the agreement of the Administration Committee via email, to review and respond to the Hampshire County Council (HCC) corporate response to the consultation once it becomes available.

Exempt Business
To consider passing a resolution under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972 in respect of the following item of business on the grounds that it is/they are likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 2 and 3 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.
The Schedule 12A categories have been amended and are now subject to the public interest test, in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This came into effect on 1 March 2006.
It is considered that the following items are exempt from disclosure and that the public interest in not disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
