HONORARY FREEDOM OF THE CITY
The following Motion to be moved and seconded:
(i) That in pursuance of the provisions of Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the Honorary Freedom of the City be conferred on The City of Southampton (Albion) Band, in recognition of the eminent services rendered by giving over 100 years of services to the City of Southampton in particular for their continued commitment to the City by leading the Cenotaph Remembrance Sunday Parade and other military parades for the Falkland Islands, VE, VJ Day, playing at The Dell (and) for Southampton Football Club, playing at numerous events in and outside the city promoting Southampton, the said City of Southampton (Albion) Band be admitted to the Honorary Freemen of the City of Southampton.
(ii) That suitable scrolls and caskets be commissioned for this purpose.
NOTE:
Under the provisions of Section 249(5) of the Local Government Act 1972 this resolution, to be effected, must be passed by not less than two thirds of the members voting at the meeting.
