Review of Statement of Principles – Gambling Act 2005

The Licensing and Animal Welfare Team Leader introduced her report.
In response to questions from Members, the officer advised that:
When the Council receive an application to consider the opening of new betting shop etc under the Gambling Act 2005, a legal procedure is followed. The application will be subject to a 28 day consultation period; during which time representations from the public may be received. If those representations have relevant objections to the licensing objectives then the application will come to the Sub-Committee for determination.
Following debate, PROPOSED by Councillor Weeks and SECONDED by Councillor Blades it was RESOLVED that the Licensing Committee RECOMMEND the “Review of Statement of Principles – Gambling Act 2005” to Full Council for approval.

An error contained within the report was brought to the Committees attention. On page 193 section 3.2 of the Agenda pack. This details the following sentence being crossed out and in red:
“Number of endorsed driving licence penalty points”
This is crossed out in error and should remain in the report.
The Licensing and Animal Welfare Team Leader gave an overview and extra clarity of the key changes that are contained within the report.
