Councillor Forster declared a Pecuniary and Personal interest in agenda item 4 as a Hampshire County Councillor.
A Member queried if all Councillors needed to declare an interest in agenda item 4. The Executive Director, Corporate confirmed that this was not necessary.

To pass comments to Cabinet on the proposed interim Local Government Reorganisation submission letter (Appendix 2 to the attached report to Cabinet).

Mr Barry Deller made a statement on local government reorganisation under Public Participation rules.
Members of the committee and other Members in attendance, discussed the issues and asked questions of officers and the Leader of the Council.
Recommendation
To approve the Interim Plan in Appendix 2 for submission to the government by 21 March 2025 deadline.
A recorded vote was held on the recommendation:
For: Cockarill; Davies; Farmer; Highley; Jones; Taylor, Thomas; Worlock (8)
Against: (0)
Abstain: (0)
The recommendation was approved.
Members of the Committee agreed to pass the following comments to Cabinet on the proposed interim Local Government Reorganisation submission letter:
· To make sure that there is more detail in the plan, and which is informed to Overview and Scrutiny in a timely manner
· Cabinet to provide a regular update to Overview and Scrutiny Committee
· More opportunities for consultation
· Is the process the correct one?
