Attachments:
Minutes The Agreed Syllabus Conference considered the report of the Director of Children’s Services (item 6 in the Minute Book) which summarised the background to the Agreed Syllabus review and sought Members’ approval to start the process towards producing a revised syllabus to distribute to schools in December 2021.

Patricia Hannam, the Inspector /Advisor for RE, explained the legal requirement to review the Agreed Syllabus every five years. The review and writing would involve members of all four local authorities who use the syllabus, teachers, faith representatives and academics.  SACRE members who would be interested in being part of the review were asked to contact her.  An initial meeting would take place in Winchester on 10 July 2020 to go through the current syllabus and formulate an agenda of things that need to be addressed. The  new syllabus would be put to the Conference for adoption in November 2021.

Group votes took place and it was unanimously agreed to approve the start of the review process.

RESOLVED:

That the Agreed Syllabus Conference approve the report and agreed to review Living Difference III.
