Chair's report
Minutes
The Chair wished everyone a happy new year.
The Chair informed the Chandler’s Ford and Hiltingbury Local Area Committee (CFH LAC) that, since the last meeting in September, they had continued to replace fences, benches and bins in the area.
The Chair continued that the larger projects regarding the car park in Ramalley Lane had been delayed but should be back on track to be completed this year. She also mentioned that the Polish commemorative artwork had been submitted to the planning department.
The Chair stated the CFH LAC had continued to address residents’ issues such as bins not being collected, road sweeping, fly tipping, and TOOB installing telegraph poles in some areas. There had also been interruption to water supplies to households, where councillors had given practical help.
The Chair thanked staff at Eastleigh Borough Council who work diligently on the Committee’s behalf, with special mention to the street cleaning, parks, open spaces and horticultural departments, who won APSE awards in December 2024.
The Chair recorded the CFH LAC’s condolences to the family of former county and borough councillor, Pamela Holden-Brown, who had sadly passed away.
The Chair mentioned that Eastleigh Borough Council would be merged into a larger council at some point in the future, due to the latest government white paper on local government reform.
She stated that the CFH LAC councillors would continue to work and represent the interests and concerns of the local area until that time.
