Minutes The Director of Regeneration and Cabinet Member for Major Projects and Regeneration welcomed Matthew Hensby and Joe Marshall from SNG (Sovereign Network Group) to the meeting.

The Committee received a presentation from SNG to provide an update on recent community engagement and progress on the longer-term regeneration of Buckskin and South Ham.

The Committee discussed the presentation and made the following comments:

Sought clarification on how SNG would be able to carry out their future regeneration plans in the areas where there was also housing in private ownership.

Acknowledged that the designs for the future housing mix would be considered in relation to the housing register.

Pleased that SNG had been engaging with residents in order to try and allay any concerns and to discuss issues with resident’s face to face.

Encouraged SNG to continue their engagement with residents over the course of the long-term project.

Acknowledged that SNG would meet with residents individually to understand their needs when they needed rehousing and that they would be given the right to return in the future.

In response to questions, the Director of Regeneration gave an update on the work carried out on the Community Centre/Library building in South Ham and advised that work would be carried out to determine what the most cost-effective way forward for the building would be.
